At our computer repair shop in Sarasota, FL, we recently obtained the distributorship for the west coast of Florida for OMNI-WiFi's full line of WiFi hotspots. I took one of these antennas and hooked it up to our regular fios router and tested it. Here are my results:
I walked away from our building slowly until the signal was lost. I did this on a clear and chilly day, using netstumbler to check the signal strength. I was completely amazed at how far away I was and still getting great speed from the antenna. I must have been 200 yards from the shop, but there were 3 buildings in the line of sight between me and the antenna. Not only that, the antenna was mounted inside of our block building. While the other networks around us came up and disappeared, I still had a strong signal from the OMNI-WiFi antenna.
These antennas are designed for resorts, marinas, RV parks, and things like that. They are definitely not you average wifi hotspots.
I have been interested to see how many people will be willing to either get wifi up and running, or switch from their current system over to OMNI-WiFi. After talking with Phil, the designer and inventor of these antennas, I can see that these antennas are making big marks in the WiFi marketplace. I am happy to be a distributor, and happy to see a wifi hotspot that can actually deliver a great signal to multiple users at one time.

Sarasota Computer Repair
In the city of Sarasota, FL there are a number of good computer repair shops that do great work, but there are some major differences between them and us (Area Office Machines - AAA Toner). We are a full service company, and we warranty everything we do. We also fix copy machines, fax machines, printers, banking machines like money counters, typewriters, and basically any machine that you might find in any office environment. Computer repair is my job, but the other office machines are handled by my co-workers.
We work together for the front of the store, handling customer issues, invoicing and paperwork as well as the many other duties in the shop. But when it comes to the repairs, each of us has our area of expertise. We have one person that rebuilds (and I mean completely rebuilds with all new parts) toner cartridges for laser printers. This is the where the "AAA Toner" comes into play. This at one time was a separate business, but some time ago the two companies joined forces. There is another that works on typewriters, printers, faxes and other office machines. He is able to troubleshoot these things better than anyone I have ever seen. He even fixes machines that are obsolete and parts aren't available for. Often times he has to find a part from a scrap machine we have lying around in the shop to make the repair on some of those old machines, but one way or another, he gets it working.
Then we have myself and another guy that do nothing but computers, networking, and software stuff. We build machines, repair them, remove viruses from them and just generally keep thm running smooth. For me it is not a job, it's something I love to do. To be able to get paid to do something you love is amazing, and it is it's own reward. I am truly blessed to have such a great job, and I pray that this computer career of mine takes me to extraordinary heights.
That's enough typing for me tonight so, good night and God bless!

Starting Out
Starting Out
This is my first blog, but I plan on doing it a lot. I just hope that someone might get something out of this. The blog will mostly be concerning computers and all the things they do.
I am CompTIA A+ and NET+ certified and just recently started my career in computers. So far I love it, and I hope to be in this field for the rest of my working years.
I am a Christian doing the best I can to be righteous in the eyes of God, but as we know, we all fall short. He continues to bless my life everyday, even when the storms hit.
My experience with computers goes way back before I got any certifications, but I sorta taught myself, so I learned the hard way about a few things. I will have to learn the hard way a lot more times before I am done here. Anyway, I can build systems, install whatever software on any machine, I shine in two areas, in my opinion: virus/malware removal and software troubleshooting. I seem to have a knack for the later, but I can't take any credit for the virus/malware removal. I just use good software.
So, there you have it. You know everything about me now, so I am hoping to get to know some of you readers out there, so please, leave comments.
God Bless
